4 April 2012 11:34 (UTC+04:00)

Azerbaijan does not need assistance of foreign intelligence, including Israeli secret service, a presidential aide has said, dismissing recent foreign media reports claiming that the security of Eurovision 2012 song contest due in Baku in late May will be ensured by the Israeli Mossad.

``Azerbaijan`s intelligence services and law enforcement bodies will ensure the security during the Eurovision 2012 song contest,`` Ali Hasanov, the Presidential Administration`s head of social and political issues, told Trend news agency Monday.

He added that Azerbaijan has all the options to fully ensure the security during the event.

The final of the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest is due on May 26, following two semifinals on May 22 and 24.

Azerbaijani duo Eldar Gasimov and Nigar Jamal (Ell/Nikki) with their pop-ballad ``Running Scared`` won the Eurovision contest last year in Dusseldorf, Germany.

The 57th Eurovision Song Contest will be held at the Baku Crystal Hall, which is under construction in the seaside park of Baku.
