BAKU – Avrupa Yakasi Yayinlari, a major Istanbul-based publishing house, has released a new book by Azerbaijani writer and literary critic Vagif Sultanly.

"The pain of soul" is the third book published by Sultanly in Turkey after "Death dream" and "Azerbaijan’s immigrant literature".

The new publication analyzes the contemporary period of Azerbaijan’s immigrant literature. It summarizes samples of Azerbaijani poetry, fiction, literature and literary criticism created by emigrants from 1975-2000 and at the dawn of the 21st century.

The author describes the peculiarities of the unexplored contemporary period of Azerbaijani emigrants’ literature, delving into the creative work of numerous writers.

The book analyzes the fictional and scientific heritage and core aspects of creative work by authors including Iren Malikova of France, Rza Beraheni of Canada, Simakh Sheyda and Nemat Rahmati of Germany, Chingiz Huseynov and Tofig Malikli of Russia, Gulshan Latifkhan of the Netherlands, and Hamid Nitgi, Turkhan Ganjeyi and Gulamrza Sabri Tabrizi of Britain.

The book was translated into Turkish by PhD Anvar Uzun, an assistant professor at a university in Trabzon, who has written a number of research papers on Azerbaijani literature.
