Azeri Eurovision song selected
BAKU – An Azerbaijani song to be performed at this year’s Eurovision contest has been selected. The duet of Eldar Gasymov and Nigar Jamal, performing as Ell and Nikki, will sing the "Running Scared" song at the contest, which will be held in Dusseldorf, Germany in May.
The authors of the song are Sweden’s Stefan Orn, Sandra Bjurman and Iain Farguhanson, who also composed the "Drip drop" song performed by Azerbaijan’s Safura Alizadeh at the Eurovision contest in 2010.
The board of judges selected "Running Scared" from among 70 songs.
Azerbaijan ranked eighth at Eurovision in 2008, third in 2009 and fifth in 2010.
