The Azerbaijan State Choir successfully performed at the opening of the International Choral Festival.
The festival took place at the Sukhum Drama Theatre, Day.Az reported.
It should be noted that the Azerbaijan State Choir Chapel operates under the Azerbaijan State Academic Philharmonic since 1966.
The choir’s repertoire includes more than a thousand works by Azerbaijani and foreign composers as well as folk songs.
Over the past years, the choir team has successfully performed at international festivals and events held both in Azerbaijan and abroad.
The choir once again honored Azerbaijan at the International Choir Festival.
Under the leadership of the chief conductor of the choir, People’s Artist of Azerbaijan, Professor Gulbadji Imanova, the team presented a bright show.
They performed "Buludlar" by Agakerim Karimov, No. 5 and No. 9 from the Bayatylar choir cycle by Agshina Alizade, "Autumn Flowers" by Bidzina Kvernadze, "O, lux beata" by Andrei Makor, "Autumn" by Gara Garayev, etc.
Mugham "Bayati Shiraz" was performed at the event on the concert. Mesheti Jabbarova delighted the audience with her solo performance on saz.
The magnificent performance of Georgian, European work, and the beauty of Azerbaijani music mesmerized the audience.
At the end of the concert, the audience did not want to let the choir out of the stage and twice called them for an encore.
