Days of Iranian Culture solemnly opened in Baku on June 27.

A press conference was also held at the Museum Center with the participation of Azerbaijani Culture Minister Abulfas Garayev and the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyyed Abbas Salehi, Trend Life reported.

In his speech, Abulfaz Garayev noted that the peoples of the two countries are linked by fraternal relations. He stressed that the relations between Azerbaijan and Iran are successfully developing in various spheres, including in the field of culture, and holding Days of Iranian culture will promote the expansion of bilateral ties in this area.

The Minister stressed that last year the Culture Days of Azerbaijan were successfully organized in Iran, and today the days of Iran's culture are held in Azerbaijan. It was noted that the program of Iran's Cultural Days is extensive. Within the framework of the event scheduled for June 27 - July 1, gala concerts, exhibition, film screening, theatrical performance await guests in Baku and Ganja.

Seyyed Abbas Salehi noted that Azerbaijan and Iran have a common culture and history.

He said that the Days of Iranian Culture in Azerbaijan aim to demonstrate the cultural proximity of the two countries.

Holding Days of Iranian Culture will play an important role in the development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iran in the field of culture.

The first event within the framework of the Days of Iranian Culture was an exhibition organized in the Museum Center in Baku. The exhibition featured handmade Iranian artists, photographs, paintings, samples of national clothes.

Photographs reflecting the nature, historical and architectural monuments of Iran, picturesque paintings, beautiful handicrafts - artistic carving, carpets, jewelry as well as printed materials were showcased at the exhibition.

Special interest was shown on the national sweets of Iran, samples of national clothes and work of modern fashion designers.

Further, Azerbaijan State Academic Philharmonic Hall hosted a solemn opening of the Days of Iranian Culture in Azerbaijan.

National anthems of both countries were played.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Azerbaijan's Minister of Culture Abulfaz Garayev spoke about the development of relations between Azerbaijan and Iran in the field of culture.

The Minister said that the cultural and art workers of Iran are taking part in the events held in Azerbaijan, while Azerbaijan's art figures successfully demonstrate their creativity in Iran. This event promotes the development and expansion of cooperation in the field of cultural exchange between Azerbaijan and Iran.

The Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyyed Abbas Salehi stressed a great potential for the development of cultural relations between the two countries.

It was stressed that the cultural and historical ties between the two countries are deeply rooted.

Seyyed Abbas Salehi voiced his confidence that the relations between Azerbaijan and Iran will develop and expand in the future.

Then, a concert program was presented to the audience.

Iranian National Orchestra conducted by Firudin Shahbarian and the soloist of the program Salar Agil (vocal) performed on the stage.

Days of Iranian Culture in Azerbaijan kick off in Baku on June 27 - July 1.

The film "Muhammad: Messenger of Allah" will be screened in Nizami Cinema Center on June 28, at 17:00.

At 19:00, Titovak theater will stage "Divine Comedy, Hell" in the State Musical Theater.

The concert of Iran's National Orchestra will be held in Ganja State Philharmonic on June 29, at 19:00.

Azerbaijani and Iranian peoples have common cultural and religious traditions. Two countries successfully cooperate in many areas, including agriculture, transport, tourism, industry and other spheres.

Baku hosted the Iranian Culture Days within the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games in 2017.

The events were of big interest among Baku’s residents. Representatives of the country performed at a series of concerts, featuring country's national songs and dance numbers.

The Days of Iranian and Azerbaijani cultures in 2010 and 2011 also kicked off with a great success.
