Azerbaijan’s State Philharmonic Hall will host a solo concert of tar player Kamal Nuriyev on June 13.
The event is co-organized by Mədəniyyət’ TV channel, ‘Azerbaijan’ radio channel and the State Philharmonic with support of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Trend Life reported.
Kamal Nuriyev will be accompanied by the Orchestra of Folk Musical Instruments named after Said Rustamov. The artistic director and chief conductor –is Faig Sadikhov. The evening will feature works of national classics.
The tar, a long-necked plucked lute, is one of the most important musical instruments in Iran and the Caucasus.
