Baku hosts int'l jazz project

Baku’s International Mugham Center has brought together world-famous musicians from France, Belgium, Turkey and Azerbaijan.

The event was held with the support of the Cultural Council of the Embassy of Turkey in Azerbaijan, the embassies of France and Belgium in the country.

Azerbaijan was represented at the concert by talented jazzman and composer Elchin Shirinov, Azertac reported.

The Elchin Shirinov Trio is an exciting project interweaving forward looking arrangements of traditional Azerbaijani music and brand new compositions. The trio consists of musicians Linley Marthe (France) and Stephane Galland (Belgium).

In his speech, Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Erkan Ozoral stressed the importance of the event. The diplomat emphasized the role of music in expanding cultural ties between the two countries.

During the event, guests enjoyed different music genres, unique synthesis of cultures and much more.

The band Önder Focan and Salliel Bros also performed at the event.
