Great interest is shown in Azerbaijan's agriculture: official

Entrepreneurs from various countries are showing great interest in Azerbaijan's agriculture.

The news was announced by Azerbaijan's Agriculture Minister Heydar Asadov at the opening ceremony of the international exhibitions of agriculture and food industry in Baku on May 22.

"Over 240 companies from 36 countries of the world are attending the exhibition this year," he noted.

"Some of the important orders of the President, aimed at the development of agriculture, have led to significant success," he added.

Asadov also noted t Azerbaijan has introduced modern technologies in the agro-industrial complex, as a result of which the country has achieved full self-sufficiency in a number of agricultural products in the past five months.

"Moreover, such events introduce the Azerbaijani market to potential buyers," he said. "Foreign visitors can get acquainted with this field, the investment climate, and the products."

The WorldFood Azerbaijan-2014, AgriHort Azerbaijan-2014, Plastex Caspian-2014 and Ipack Caspian-2014 exhibitions kicked off at the Baku Expo Center on May 22.

The 20th WorldFood Azerbaijan-2014 exhibition is part of the world-famous WorldFood exhibition brand.

The 8th AgriHort Azerbaijan-2014 exhibition is attended by various companies from Azerbaijan, the U.S., Germany, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Russia, Ukraine, France, and other countries.

Agricultural equipment, irrigation systems, feeds for animals and fish, and fertilizers are demonstrated at this exhibition.

The 3rd Plastex Caspian-2014 exhibition is attended by companies from Azerbaijan, Brasil, Qatar, China, Russia, Portugal, Turkey, and other companies.

The 3rd Ipack Caspian-2014 exhibition is attended by Azerbaijan, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, the Czech Republic, and other countries.
