Azerbaijan, Saudi Arabia discuss cooperation
By Nazrin Gadimova
The Azerbaijani government has offered Saudi Arabia to hold the next meeting of the intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation in Baku in September.
The proposal was made by Azerbaijani Minister of Economic Development Shahin Mustafayev at a meeting with the newly appointed Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Musaed al-Salem on July 10.
"The cooperation between Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia is developing successfully, and the activity of the intergovernmental commission, which has held two meetings, plays an important role in the development of our relations," the minister said, noting the importance of official visits and negotiations.
Mustafayev said that so far 10 economic documents have been signed between the two countries.
The Saudi Arabian diplomat in turn said the efforts to further expand the cooperation are being made, as Saudi Arabia attaches great importance to its cooperation with the fast-growing Azerbaijan.
