Azerbaijani labor minister hold meetings with top Indonesian, Brunei and Mauritanian officials

The Azerbaijani Minister of Labour and Social Protection Fizuli Alakbarov has held meetings with the Indonesian minister of labor Muhaimin Iskandar, Brunei's Interior Minister Pehin Dato Ustaz Haji and Mauritanian minister of modernization of public services, labor and management Amati bint Hamadi.

The meetings are being held within the second meeting of labor ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member-states.

Members of bilateral meetings expressed support for the establishment of relations between the OIC and labor and the employment branch in Azerbaijan. An agreement on the establishment of a new organization with its headquarters in Baku was reached during the meeting with OIC Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu in Baku.

The new organization will focus on the development of common professional standards, safety standards, compliance with the conditions of labor and disability benefits. The organization's convention will be adopted. All countries of the Islamic world will join. The name of the organization has not been determined yet, but it will be created during Azerbaijan's presidency in the OIC Committee on Labor and Social Protection for the next two years.
