Bulk of construction work increases by 28 pct in Azerbaijan
The volume of construction work in Azerbaijan increased by 28.6 percent as of early December 2012 compared to the same period of last year, Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee said.
The volume of construction work carried out by state-owned companies hit 24.8 percent of the total amount of work, while private companies - 75.2 percent.
Around 92.400 people were involved in the Azerbaijani construction sector in Jan.-Oct., nominal wages in the construction sector amounted to 569.5 manat, or 10.5 percent more than in the same period of last year. The salary in the state-owned companies amounted to 468 manat (with growth of 18.3 percent for the year), private companies - 632.3 manat (with growth of 4.8 percent).
Wage level in the field of building construction increased by 3.1 percent to 543.8 manat, specialized construction - by 12.4 percent - up to 700.8 manat, in the field of civil construction work - 33.9 percent - up to 461 manat.
