Azerbaijan expands economic relations with Russian regions
Azerbaijan has established economic relations with 21 regions in Russia, Russian Trade Representative in Azerbaijan Yuri Shchedrin told media on Wednesday.
"The delegations headed by leaders of Russian regions, including those from the Volgograd region, Chechnya and Karachay-Cherkessia visited Baku this year," he said. "This testifies to the development of trade and economic relations between Azerbaijan and Russian regions."
He added that the agreements on cooperation in trade, economic and humanitarian spheres are planned to be signed between Azerbaijan and such regions of the Russian Federation as the Kemerovo Region, Krasnodar, Volgograd, Tambov Oblast and the Republic of Bashkortostan in 2013.
Shchedrin stressed that the Russian regions have shown an interest in attracting Azerbaijani investments.
