WB names new Azerbaijan manager
The World Bank has appointed Larisa Leshchenko as its new country manager on Azerbaijan.
Leshchenko will embark on her duties on September 1. But she will arrive in Azerbaijan in October and be officially introduced to the government.
The term of office of the former WB head in Azerbaijan, Joseph Owen, ended in late July.
Owen had been the World Bank's representative in Azerbaijan from the summer of 2010. His predecessor, Gregory Jedrzejczak, held this position for four years.
The Country Manager is usually appointed for three years, but this term could be extended for a fourth year.
