WB to lend $1bn to Azerbaijan
The World Bank intends to allocate a $1 billion loan to
Azerbaijan as part of its new strategy.
The WB says Azerbaijan will receive the loan in equal portions
during four years. The bank will continue funding such projects as
road and bridge construction in the country.
Since 1992, the WB has funded 45 projects worth $2 billion in
Azerbaijan.*
