Changes in requirements for agricultural enterprises in Azerbaijan

Conduct environmental impact assessments of livestock and poultry enterprises specializing in agricultural production will be mandatory in Azerbaijan, Trend reports.
In this regard, amendments are being proposed to the law "On Agricultural Cooperation".
In accordance with the amendments, the environmental impact of cooperative projects, livestock and poultry enterprises specializing in agricultural production, agroparks, as well as that of projects on fish farming (including aquaculture), require assessment.
According to the project, if the assessment concludes that the these facilities meet environmental requirements, then preparing a document on environmental impact assessment for the purpose of reconstructing or replacing facilities and their equipment is not required.
Environmental impact assessment will also apply to activities undertaken prior to the enactment of this law.
