Promotion of Azerbaijani products at the leading international exhibitions brings positive outcomes by increasing country's export potential.

With the support of the Ministry of Economy and the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO), 10 Azerbaijani wine and other alcoholic beverages companies presented their products at the "Made in Azerbaijan" single stand at Prowein 2019 international exhibition in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Azerbaijani wines are welcomed by exhibitors and companies, discussions were held on export.

As a result of the discussions, Absheron Wine Company has already reached a preliminary agreement on exporting its products to Germany.

Moreover, “Naiqin Co-Tovuz Baltiya” and “Aspi Agro” companies held talks on export its products to Germany, France and the Netherlands, while “Sharg Ulduzu” and “Agro-Azerinvest” to Norway, Germany and China.

The event which took place on March 17-19 was attended by the visitors from 133 countries. More than 60 countries presented their products at the exhibition.

The next International Wine Exhibition “Prowein” will be held on 15-17 March, 2020 in Dusseldorf.

Prowein is the world's leading trade fair for wine and spirits, the largest industry meeting for professionals from viticulture, production, trade and gastronomy. ProWein - International Fair of Wine and Alcoholic Beverages is held annually, since 1994.

One of the elements that made a significant contribution to the success of the ProWein exhibition was and remains the program of international tastings. The tremendous importance of this open tasting area is underlined by the results of a survey of visitors - about 90 percent of all specialists report year after year that they use the tasting area as an important tool for guiding and preparing for decision making.

The introduction of local products of Azerbaijan to international markets is boosting the non-oil sector of the economy and strengthens business ties with foreign countries.

Launched in 2016, the Made in Azerbaijan brand envisages a large-scale promotion of local non-oil products in foreign markets.

Azerbaijan is organizing a number of export missions to promote national products under the Made in Azerbaijan brand. Export missions are a supporting measure to identify opportunities for accessing new markets, strengthen local product positions in existing markets and provide these markets with new products.

Promotion of export-oriented local products under the Made in Azerbaijan brand in a wider geographic area also helps to attract foreign investment. The export of non-oil products will stimulate the expansion of the production of these products and will further strengthen the non-oil sector's share in the structure of the GDP.
