Taxes Ministry changes process of registration of business enterprises

The Ministry of Taxes of Azerbaijan amended the process of registration of business entities.
The Ministry reported that registration of business entities is transferred to the newly established department of state registration and accounting control.
The Department will work to adapt the registration of commercial legal entities and individual entrepreneurs to modern requirements, analyze the database of accounting and registration.
Today, the “single window” system operates in the tax authorities in the field of registration of business entities. There is high transparency in the state registration of legal entities and taxpayers. Along with this, a lot of innovations are applied in the system of accounting and registration in the world. The Ministry of Taxes will also apply progressive innovations in the national tax system of the country.
The main purpose of structural changes in the tax system is to ensure transparency in the activities of tax authorities, the formation of a favorable business environment for tax administration, combating corruption and other negative cases.
The message also talks about the formation of a new appeal system, which will help prevent elements of corruption in the tax system.
The ministry noted that the goal is to increase the efficiency of the functional management in the ministry, strengthen control over tax payments and the activities of tax authorities, build modern administration with a dynamic structure serving the purposes of the tax system.
Director General of the Department Nigar Alimova stressed that the main goal of creating a new structure is to reduce the elements of corruption to zero by improving the appellate institution in the tax authorities.
Changes in the sphere of taxpayer service are aimed at improving the quality of taxpayer services, the organization of new services based on modern experience, the development of the existing system of electronic and targeted services.
The number of legal entities registered in Azerbaijan as of January 1, 2018 is 118,594, which is 10.5 percent higher than the figure at the beginning of last year, according to the State Statistics Committee.
As many as 10,436 enterprises operate in Azerbaijan, engaged in agriculture, processing enterprises - 6.445, construction companies - 11.891.
Moreover, as of January 1, 2018, Azerbaijan registered 794,441 individuals engaged in entrepreneurial activities without creating a legal entity. In comparison with the beginning of 2017, their number increased by 13.7 percent.
In the sphere of agriculture are engaged 22,853 individuals, processing industry - 17,154, wholesale and retail sales, repair of cars and household goods - 201,121.
