Submitted property of debtors to be sold through online auctions

By Kamila Aliyeva

The Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan has approved the rules for organization and conduct of electronic auctions, where submitted property of taxpayers will be sold.

Under the newly-approved rules, electronic auctions will be carried out on an official website, which will function in three languages.

Individuals or legal entities wishing to participate in the auction need to register in advance on the official website, by entering the necessary data.

Lots for the Internet auction are formed from the submitted property of taxpayers on the basis of a request of the bailiff. The auction organizer must place an announcement about its conduct 10 days after the receipt of the request and all documents from the bailiff or five days in case if it is a question of perishable food and other goods.

The decision was made in the framework of the presidential decree on amending the Tax Code, which came into force on January 1, 2017.
