Azerbaijan and Estonia are keen to strengthen cooperation in the field of agriculture and plan to launch new projects to increase import and export of agricultural products.

In this connection, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Estonia Murad Najafbayli met with the Minister of Rural Affairs of Estonia Tarmo Tamm to discuss agricultural cooperation between the countries.

During the meeting, Tamm emphasized the high level of organization of the meeting of the joint intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation, in particular noting that President Ilham Aliyev received the co-chairman of the intergovernmental commission, Mihhail Korb.

Tamm expressed hope that the level of economic relations with friendly Azerbaijan will be as high as in the political sphere.

Estonia is also engaged in certification of agricultural products and can assist in free access of Azerbaijani products to the European market.

He stressed the importance of carrying out mutual visits to expand bilateral ties.

In turn, Najafbayli stressed Azerbaijan's interest enhancing cooperation with Estonia in the field of agriculture, noting his country's great opportunities for exporting its products to Estonia.

The sides also discussed the state of the legal framework between Estonia and Azerbaijan in the field of agriculture.
