A total of nine state-owned properties were sold on November 8 during the auction of Azerbaijan’s State Committee on Property Issues, the Committee stated.

Two small state properties and four unused non-residential areas out of the nine state objects are located in Baku, and one in Shaki. The privatized joint-stock companies Agjabadi Cotton and Bilasuvar Cotton are large industrial enterprises.

As a result of te privatization of these facilities, the state budget acquired 800,000 manats ($474,000).

The next auction will take place on November 15, and will put on sale 73 objects.

The full list of the state enterprises is available at http://privatization.az/index.php/az/sas-s-hif/mue-ssis-l-r#

The portal for privatization – privatization.az, launched in July 2016, reflects all necessary information about the facilities, their addresses, location, and even initial cost and aims at facilitation of the process. The website is available in two languages - Azerbaijani and English. “Why Azerbaijan is special” section available on the website explains the reasons and advantages of investing in the country.

The privatization process is designed to attract both foreign and local investors, as well as improve the business environment of Azerbaijan.
