European Games best experience of his life, British diver says
The First European Games being held in Baku are the best
experience of my life, Great Britain’s diver Matthew Lee said, the
UK International Business Times reported.
"This is my first ever multi-sports Games and a village atmosphere
and it has been awesome. It is the best experience of my life, I
hope to go to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, I don't think it is
far-fetched, I just have to keep working hard and training hard and
just keep being positive," said Lee.
In an impressive display of diving at the Baku Aquatics Centre,
Britain's juniors garnered four gold, one silver and one bronze
from eight events.
Another Great Britain diver Lois Toulson said that British diving
was at its best during the Games in Baku.
"I think British diving is in a really good place at the moment,
because obviously with the team that we have got we have quite a
few medals, and obviously we have the senior team that are doing
quite well at the moment, so yeah, I think we are in good place,"
she said.
The European Games that kicked off June 12, will last till June 28.
There is a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and
four non-Olympic sports.
More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe came to Baku to
represent their nations over 17 days of competition. Baku was
awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in
December 2012.
