Hungary won gold in the men's Kayak four (K4) 1000m in the European Games Canoe Sprint competition on Tuesday, finishing first in a time of 3:07.063.

Russia won silver in 3:08.034, while Belarus took bronze in 3:08.827.

In the women's K1 500m, it was another Hungarian, Danuta Kozak, who won the gold, ahead of Austria's Yvonne Schuring and Ewelina Wojnarowska of Poland.

"I'm very happy, but it was a hard race," said Kozak, who had already taken European Games gold on Monday in the K4 500m. "There's a headwind out there and I only realised when I got to the water."

Serbia's Milica Starovic and Dalma Ruzicic Benedek won the women's Kayak double (K2) 500m. Romanian pair Roxana Borha and Elena Meroniac won the silver, with Anna Karasz and Ninetta Vad securing another medal, albeit bronze, for Hungary.
