Boe and Mogensen lead Danish Badminton team at Baku 2015

Mathias Boe and Carsten Mogensen will be leading the way for Danish Badminton at Baku 2015.

Denmark is by far the top Badminton nation in Europe but many of the country's biggest names will not compete at the Baku 2015 European Games.

The men's singles player will be Emil Holst. The 24-year-old is the 2009 junior European champion and the 11th best ranked player in Europe at number 50 in the world. But Holst is only the fifth best single's player in his own country.

Not on the Baku 2015 team are 2014 European champion and world number three Jan O. Jorgensen, world number nine Viktor Axelsen, world number 14 Hans-Kristian Vittinghus and Joachim Persson, the 42nd ranked player in the world. Jorgensen, Axelsen and Vittinghus are the top three players in Europe.

The top Danish men's doubles team will be competing in Azerbaijan with world number two duo Mathias Boe and Carsten Mogensen, the London 2012 silver medallists and 2013 world silver medallists.

Denmark will also be sending their top two women's singles players Line Kjaesfeldt and Anna Thea Madsen, who are ranked 37th and 48th in the world, respectively.

The country's top women's doubles team, world number five Kamilla Rytter Juhl and Christinna Pedersen, will also not be competing at Baku 2015.

Instead, Denmark will be represented by Lena Grebak and Maria Helsbol, who are number 63 in the world and the 17th best duo in Europe.

Juhl and Pedersen not being in Azerbaijan also means that Denmark will not have their top two mixed doubles team as Joachim Fischer Nielsen and Pedersen are fourth in the world and Mads Pieler Kolding and Juhl are world number 12.

Instead, it will be Niclas Nohr and Sara Thygesen, who are number 32 in the world and 12th best in Europe.
