296 boxers to fight at Baku Games 2015

A total of 296 boxers, including 216 men and 80 women, will struggle for medals in the inaugural European Games to be held in Baku in June 2015.

Some 196 boxers will be qualifiers, while 70 will book a spot in the games according to the European rankings.

Azerbaijan is able to field ten boxers as the host nation. Fifteen more boxers will have an opportunity to vie for Olympic medals through special preferential cards.

Baku Games, starting on June 12, 2015, will involve around 6,000 competitors from the 49 Olympic nations of Europe across 19 sports, including new formats and disciplines featured for the first time at a major European sports event.

The list of sports includes Aquatics, Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Basketball 3x3, Beach soccer, Boxing, Canoe Sprint, Cycling, Fencing, Gymnastics, Judo, Karate, Shooting, Table tennis, Taekwondo, Triathlon, Volleyball, and Wrestling.
