Date set for launch of Baghdad-Baku flight

Iraq Airways will carry out the first direct flights on Baghdad-Baku-Baghdad route from September 22.
The tickets for the first four flights will cost approximately $250.
The flights will be held weekly on Wednesdays according to Iraqi Transport Minister Baqir al-Zubaidi's instructions.
Azerbaijan Airlines said the State Civil Aviation Administration of Azerbaijan approved the flights on Baghdad-Baku-Baghdad and Najaf-Baku-Najaf routes, AzerTac state news agency reported.
Iraqi Airway, is the national carrier of Iraq, headquartered on the grounds of Baghdad International Airport in Baghdad. One of the oldest airlines in the Middle East, Iraqi Airways operates domestic and regional service. Its main base is Baghdad International Airport.
