FM Lavrov names main goals in Syrian conflict settlement

The main goal in Syria at the moment is to resolve the situation in Aleppo, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said, Sputnik reported.
“The main [aim] now is to put an end to the tragedy of Aleppo, return the people to normal life and begin restoration of this ancient and, in fact, the biggest Syrian city,” Lavrov said.
The Russian reconciliation center has earlier said the Syrian army was controlling over 98 percent of the territory of Aleppo, with militants present in less than 3 square kilometers.
