The minister and the representatives of the company lit a symbolic torch in the village center.

SOCAR Georgia built a medium pressure 14-kilometer long gas pipeline in the Savaneti village, and as a result, some 473 potential subscribers got the opportunity to connect to the network.

Along with Savaneti, works were carried out in five more villages in Bolnisi, in particular Khidiskuri, Balakhauri, Mukhran, Injaoglu and Japalo.

A gas pipeline of 35-kilometer length was constructed for the supply of gas to villages, and some 1,213 subscribers were supplied with natural gas.

Today, gas is supplied in the Bolnisi municipality to 8,125 subscribers.

A total of 25,000 subscribers were supplied with gas following the construction of a 1,000-kilometer gas pipeline in the Kvemo Kartli region.

Since 2009, SOCAR Georgia Gas has already constructed 5,500 kilometers of gas networks throughout the country and provided about 194,000 subscribers with gas.

SOCAR Georgia Gas, which is the daughter of SOCAR Energy Georgia, was established in August 2007 aimed at taking part in the Georgian natural gas market. Its main activities are supplying natural gas. The company supplies gas to social and commercial users. It also plans to construct new gas pipelines and rehabilitate the existing ones in the populated areas of various regions of Georgia.

In total, it is planned to provide natural gas to more than 86,000 homes in Georgia by the end of the year.

The gas supply of settlements in Georgia will be completed in 2017.
