Ukraine seeking Azeri oil
Ukraine is seeking to refine Azerbaijan's oil and sell it in the
domestic market. A Ukrainian delegation is visiting Baku to hold
talks on the matter.
The country's Drogobichski and Nadvirnyanski oil terminals are interested in buying 3 million tons of crude from the oil-rich South Caucasus republic, the Ukrainian energy ministry said. The purchased crude could be transported through the Baku-Supsa western pipeline.
As for transportation of Caspian oil through the Odessa-Brody-Gdansk pipeline, the Ukrainian government estimates that 5-6m tons of oil are needed annually to make the project profitable.
