Azercell provides full coverage in subway
Starting from December 19, subscribers of Azerbaijan`s leading cellular operator, Azercell, are able to use their cell phones in every corner of the Baku subway system, which is used by millions of passengers on a daily basis.
All subway stations of the capital have been put entirely under Azercell`s coverage area.
Back in 2000, when Azercell started to extend its coverage area to all Baku subway stations for the first time in Azerbaijan, its customers got the opportunity to talk on their phones while standing on the waiting platform of subway stations. Gradually, escalators also entered the coverage area.
Azercell has also managed to extend its coverage not only on waiting platforms and escalators, but also in entrances and exits of subway stations, including all tunnels, as a result of a relevant project implemented this year.
Since the start of its operation in 1996, Azercell Telecom LLC has implemented various projects aimed at improving quality cellular communication. During this period, 99% of the population and almost 80% of the country`s territory (excluding the Armenia-occupied territories) have been covered by Azercell.
