Azerbaijan, Croatia ink memo on co-op

The justice ministries of Azerbaijan and Croatia have signed a memorandum of cooperation in Baku.
Addressing the ceremony, Justice Ministers Fikrat Mammadov and Orsat Miljenic hailed the memorandum as "important". They said it would play "an exceptional role" in the development of Azerbaijan-Croatia relations.
Mammadov said the memorandum would give "a great push" to the development of legal relations between the two countries.
Also, Mammadov hailed Azerbaijan-Croatia relations as "friendly and fruitful". He said reciprocal visits by the heads of state had played "a special role" in developing the bilateral relations.
The minister highlighted legal and justice reforms carried out in Azerbaijan. He noted there were good prospects for deepening cooperation between justice authorities of Azerbaijan and Croatia.
Miljenic, in turn, said Croatia attached particular emphasis to expanding its relationship with Azerbaijan.
He praised the legal, justice and penitentiary reforms
implemented in Azerbaijan.
The Croatian Minister expressed confidence his visit would
contribute to enhancing the cooperation between the two countries`
justice authorities.
As part of the visit the Croatian minister held several meetings at the Supreme Court, Justice and Legal Council, visited Yasamal District Court and Baku Pre-trial Detention Facility.
