Hall repaired with Heydar Aliyev Foundation's support opens in Rome

The opening ceremony of the Hall of the Philosophers in Rome's Capitoline Museums, repaired with the support of Azerbaijan's Heydar Aliyev Foundation, was held on October 25.
As part of the event, Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Italy Vagif Sadigov met Rome's Mayor Ignacio Marino.
The current state of bilateral relations and development prospects of the cooperation between Rome and Baku were discussed at the meeting. Speakers emphasized that the repair of a part of the Capitoline Museums by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation will strengthen the friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Italy.
After viewing the museum's Hall of the Philosophers, Amb. Sadigov and Mayor Marino held a joint press conference.
Speaking about Azerbaijan-Italy relations, Sadigov said the work done by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation was of special significance in this regard.
Highly assessing the restoration work done by the foundation in the Capitoline Museums and having thanked Azerbaijan, Marino said this initiative will greatly contribute to the cultural relations between the two countries.
Recently, the foundation also started a new project to further promote Azerbaijan in the regions of Italy.
The first event within the project was held in Florence, where Azerbaijani art masters once again demonstrated to the Italian audience the richness of Azerbaijani culture.
Capitoline Museums consist of two palaces, Palazzo Nuovo and Palazzo dei Conservatori. The museums were created in 1471, when Pope Sixtus IV donated a group of bronze statues of great symbolic value to the People of Rome.
The collections are closely linked to the city of Rome, and most of the exhibits come from the city itself.
The Hall of the Philosophers, situated in the Palazzo Nuovo, showcases portrait busts of Greek politicians, scientists and poets.
