Carl Friedrich Goerdeler-Kolleg announces call for applications on Good Governance

The Carl Friedrich Goerdeler-Kolleg has announced the next call for applications for young executives in the public sector from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Russia, Turkey and Ukraine.

The Kolleg offers future policymakers the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of political interrelationships and international cooperation. They will meet with experts from civil society, politics, and administration in Germany and the EU, and receive advanced training in a variety of seminars. These encounters allow all the participants to discuss and share their ideas and experiences in a unified Europe.

Young professionals are invited to participate in seminars on "Good Governance" and to work on a project between August 2013 and August 2014. The main seminar takes place in Berlin and Warsaw from August 31 to September 21, 2013. In a follow-up project they will contribute to future cooperation in Europe. The participants will get to know examples of implementing politics and good governance in Germany and the EU. They will be thus able to gain exclusive insights into political life and establish contacts.

Participants are given the opportunity to spend certain days observing institutions in Berlin and the surrounding areas that are related to their field of work. Following the Kolleg, the participants are expected to independently implement their project in their home country. At the beginning of the next Kolleg, the participants will come back to Berlin to present the results of their projects.

Those wishing to apply are required to have:

- Armenian, Azerbaijani, Belarusian, Georgian, Moldovan, Russian,

Turkish or Ukrainian citizenship

- residency and work in this region

- a university degree with outstanding grades

- first professional experience in the public sector (public

administration, a publicly-owned company, non-profit organization,

etc.) and support from the employer

- a specific idea for a project and an interest in good governance and

policy

- social responsibility and engagement, leadership qualities

- very good knowledge of German and knowledge of English.
