OSCE monitoring proves clashes reduced in Karabakh – Russia’s Lavrov
MOSCOW – The OSCE monitoring in Nagorno-Karabakh proves that the number of incidents in the region is being reduced, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Wednesday, Itar Tass reported.
"These days the OSCE has monitored the state of affairs. Its report in Vienna proves that the number of incidents is being reduced. This is a positive tendency. We will do everything possible to strengthen it and implement all agreements," Lavrov noted.
"Russia is committed to the Deauville position by the presidents of Russia, the United States and France. Our position have been approved by the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan with the mediation of the Russian president," the minister stressed.
These documents confirm the commitment to the peaceful settlement and contain agreements on measures to ease tension, build confidence and prevent incidents along the line of contact. "These are the obligations that the Armenian and Azerbaijani leaders accepted under the Russian president’s mediation," Lavrov said.
