Bin Laden’s killing ‘a great victory for peace-loving nations’
BAKU – Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden’s killing is "a great victory" of not only the United States but all peace-loving nations, US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Matthew Bryza has said.
Bin Laden was killed in Pakistan in a shootout with US operatives on Sunday.
"All of this man’s actions were aimed at destruction," Bryza said on a visit to the northwestern Ismayilli region. "He was using one of the world’s biggest religions [Islam] for his ends. We are happy that he’s gone. We will prove to the rest of the world that there is no conflict of civilizations. And we will further step up our efforts to that end."
