Former FM: Azerbaijan an important country for Germany
BAKU – Former German Foreign Minister Hans-Dietrich Genscher has said Azerbaijan is an important country for Germany, Azerbaijan’s state news agency AzerTAj reported.
Genscher spoke to journalists as he visited the Alley of Martyrs in Baku to pay tribute to Azerbaijanis who fell for the country’s independence and territorial integrity.
"The stability and sustainable development increase Germany’s interest in Azerbaijan."
The former German minister touched upon the goals of his visit.
"I will have a number of meetings on prospects for bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Germany," he said.
"The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict will be in focus," added Genscher.
