President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the Nakhchivan Industrial Park on August 11.
According to AzerNEWS, Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov briefed the head of state and the First Lady on the Nakhchivan Industrial Park.
The industrial park was established by a decree signed by the President of Azerbaijan in 2024. To organize the operations of the Nakhchivan Industrial Park, the site is initially being prepared for utilities and development. This will be followed by the creation of external and internal infrastructure, including power and heat supply, gas, water, communications, transport, manufacturing, administrative, social, and other facilities.
Located in the southwestern part of Nakhchivan city, south of the Nakhchivan–Sadarak highway, the industrial park will cover an area of 310 hectares. Negotiations are already underway on several projects aimed at attracting potential entrepreneurs to the industrial park.
Currently, eight industrial parks operate in Azerbaijan: Sumgayit Industrial Park, Mingachevir Industrial Park, Garadagh Industrial Park, Pirallahi Industrial Park, Aghdam Industrial Park, Hajigabul Industrial Park, “Araz Valley Economic Zone” Industrial Park, and Balakhani Industrial Park.
Furthermore, the process of obtaining technical specifications for infrastructure development is underway for the West Industrial Park, which will be established within the administrative territories of Ganja city and Shamkir district.
A total of 184 residents have been registered across these industrial parks, 101 of whom are already operational. To date, residents have invested more than 7.1 billion manats and created over 11,500 jobs.
According to data as of July 1, 2026, products worth a total of 21.4 billion manats have been manufactured in the industrial parks, of which 6.7 billion manats worth were exported.
