Baku backs negotiated solution of Iran nuclear dispute

BAKU – The UN resolutions on Iran’s nuclear program are to be enforced strictly through negotiations, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has said.

He noted that any given country is entitled to implementing a nuclear program for peaceful purposes.

The minister added that the document on Tehran’s nuclear program signed by the leaders of Iran, Turkey and Brazil was crucial for resolving the dispute.

The West suspects Iran of seeking nuclear weapons, despite the country’s assurances its nuclear program serves peaceful purposes. The UN Security Council has passed four resolutions urging Iran to scrap its uranium enrichment work.
