Chechen president to visit Azerbaijan soon
BAKU - President of the Russian republic of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, is due to visit Azerbaijan soon, he told the Baku-based ANS TV channel.
"I hold the Azerbaijani government in deep respect," Kadyrov said. "Not only myself but also the Russian leadership has a warm attitude toward Baku. It is important for me that this invitation has been delivered to me by the Caucasus Muslims Office chairman, Sheikh Haji Allahshukur Pashazada. These are not plain words. I take this seriously and attach great importance to this. Soon, when Ilham Aliyev has time, I will arrive."
Kadyrov also invited President Aliyev to visit Chechnya.
The Chechen leader paid a visit to Baku in November 2009.
