Russia-brokered talks on Garabagh due this week - report
Azerbaijani, Armenian and Russian presidents are
expected to hold a trilateral meeting in St. Petersburg on the
sidelines of an economic forum, due June 17-19, Armenia’s
Panorama.am website has reported referring to the Armenian
presidential press-service.
Such a meeting took place during last year’s International Economic Forum held in the Russian city, and the leaders held talks on ways of settling the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Upper (Nagorno) Garabagh. The latest trilateral meeting of Presidents Ilham Aliyev, Serzh Sarkisian and Dmitry Medvedev took place later, late this January, in Russia's Black Sea town of Sochi.
Igor Popov, the Russian co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group brokering Garabagh settlement, did not rule out another trilateral meeting.*
