Aliyev says Azerbaijan committed to freeing Garabagh
President Ilham Aliyev has affirmed Azerbaijan’s intransigent
stance on the Upper (Nagorno) Garabagh conflict with Armenia,
saying it was committed to liberating a part of its territories
occupied by the neighboring country for over a decade.
"Azerbaijan has not backed down a single step from its position and is availing of all means to regain its occupied land," he told a ceremony Thursday held on the occasion of May 28, the Day of Republic.
President Aliyev said the illegal "parliament election" held last weekend by the Armenia-backed separatist regime in Azerbaijan’s occupied Upper (Nagorno) Garabagh region and its international condemnation has once again shown that the world community does not accept separatism and will never recognize Upper Garabagh as an independent entity.*
