A monument to the founder of the Turkish Republic Mustafa Kemal
Ataturk was inaugurated on Monday in Azerbaijan's capital, Baku,
AzerTAj state news agency reported.
President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his spouse Emine Erdogan attended the unveiling ceremony, which also brought together government officials, MPs, scientists and representatives of the general public.
A ceremonial guard of honor was lined up for the ceremony in a park in Baku’s Nasimi district.
The Azerbaijani president and Turkish prime minister delivered remarks at the ceremony.*
