Armenian cleric invited to Baku summit
The Patriarch of Russian Orthodox Church Kirill has passed on to
Armenian Catholicos Garegin II an invitation to attend a summit of
the world’s clerical leaders, due April 27-29 in Baku, extended by
Azerbaijan’s top cleric, the Caucasus Muslims Office chairman,
Sheikh Allahshukur Pashazada.
Novosti Armenii news agency quoted the Patriarch as saying on a visit to Armenia that participating at the event will allow stating views regarding the pivotal issues to be discussed there.
Some 150 clerical leaders have been invited to the summit, which aims to discuss the relations among creeds in the world.*
