Academician: Azerbaijani scientists should be more actively involved in research work

Scientists who have achieved significant scientific success should be more actively involved in research and development of scientific personnel in Azerbaijan.
The corresponding instructions were given by the President of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan (ANAS), academician Akif Alizade on Tuesday to the heads of the relevant scientific departments of ANAS.
The academician noted that for the perfection of textbooks and teaching aids and for scientific knowledge to take the necessary place in the educational literature, the activity of scientists and academicians in this direction in the future is extremely important.
Alizade said that the Academy is actively working towards the integration of science and education and as an indicator of this, 16 basic chairs of various universities operate in the institutes of ANAS.
He noted that at the present time students of higher educational institutions get a high level of practical knowledge in the centers of advanced training organized in the scientific institutions of the Academy.
The President of ANAS gave instructions in the future to increase the number of basic departments in scientific institutions and create a legal framework for their activities.
He said that last year a group of scientists who achieved high scientific achievements was given the scientific title "Professor of ANAS".
The Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), the highest scientific institution in the Azerbaijan Republic, was established in 1945 from the Azerbaijan Branch of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR.
By the Presidential decree in 2003 the Academy was appointed as an organization coordinating scientific research in all state research and educational centers.
ANAS plays a leading role in undertaking fundamental research, creating new technologies and methodologies, and training highly qualified experts. A series of scientific results having international significance have been obtained within the ANAS in various major fields of science.
Scientific establishments within the ANAS are currently conducting research into around 500 scientific projects, aimed at solving 130 scientific problems.
