Russian and Armenian presidents will discuss the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh in Moscow in mid-March, the Russian newspaper Izvestia reports.

The newspaper states that Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan will pay an official visit to Moscow on March 14. He will stay there for two days, during which Sargsyan will meet with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.

Press Secretary of the Russian leader, Dmitry Peskov earlier confirmed the information about the upcoming meeting.

Sargsyan and Putin will discuss the topical issues of bilateral cooperation and the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh. In addition, the parties are expected to sign a number of investment agreements.

Azerbaijan and Armenia for over two decades have been locked in conflict, which emerged over Armenian territorial claims to Azerbaijan. Since the 1990s war, Armenian armed forces have occupied over 20 percent of Azerbaijan's internationally recognized territory, including Nagorno-Karabakh and seven adjacent regions.

The UN Security Council has adopted four resolutions on Armenian withdrawal from the occupied lands of Azerbaijan, but they have not been enforced to this day.
