Notorious gangster killed in Baku
An authoritative gangster was killed in the Narimanov district of Baku on Sunday.
The 47-year-old Ragub Rustamov, a citizen of Russia who comes from Azerbaijan's Aghdam district, was shot dead outside the Tongal restaurant.
Rustamov, who permanently resides in the neighboring country, was attacked by an unidentified gunman as he was getting into his car after dining together with his two fellows. He was rushed to a hospital with five wounds but the heavy injuries did not allow to save his life.
The district deputy prosecutor Javid Guliyev who arrived at the scene said no one had been detained yet as a suspect in the murder and the motif of the crime was unknown at this point. The law enforcers are now working to identify the two persons who accompanied Rustamov.
Rustamov was known in Russia as an authority in the underworld with the "Chechen Ruslan" nickname and his murder is linked with his criminal activity, law enforcement sources said. Numerous attempts on his life had been made in the past.
