between the two countries.
The opening ceremony at the Museum Center in Baku was attended by Abulfaz Garayev, Azerbaijani Minister of Culture and Tourism, and Mubarak bin Nasser Al-Khalifa, Secretary General of Qatar`s National Council for Culture, Arts and Heritage.
Al-Khalifa said in his remarks that Qatar`s most interesting culture and art samples had been delivered to ensure his country`s being represented at the highest level in Azerbaijan. He pointed out the importance of holding the Days of Culture for the expansion of bilateral relations.
"We are confident that the Days of Qatari Culture being held in Azerbaijan will further strengthen the bonds of friendship between the two countries," Al-Khalifa said.
An exhibition displaying Qatar`s national customs and traditions was held as part of the ceremony. The event featured various hand-made items, interesting pictures and booklets. All these exhibits were displayed in wooden tents set up outside the Museum Center. Additionally, national music was played by a Qatari band.
Following the opening, a short film about Qatar and its culture was screened.
A lecture on investment opportunities in Qatar was read at the National Library, named after Mirza Fatali Akhundov as part of the Days of Culture. Also, a folk dance group performed at the Rashid Behbudov Theater of Song.
