Azerbaijan and China have developed cooperation and reached 11 agreements on economic and technological cooperation in 2014.

A report of the Azerbaijani government submitted to parliament said the agreements totaled 305 million yuan or $45.5 million.

The agreements resulted in the delivery to Azerbaijan of 163 units of vehicles for domestic purposes.

Based on the negotiations with the Chinese side, a new batch of equipment, including 65 units of self-unloading trucks, 30 excavators, 30 mobile cranes and 15 asphalt spreading machines were purchased as part of 2014 unspent funds.

The remaining funds will be spent on the purchase of 50 more vehicles for domestic purposes, the purchase of ICT equipment for a number of government agencies, etc.

The report said, the latest agreement on economic and technological cooperation with China which amounted to 30 million yuan ($ 4.5 million) was signed on December 7, 2014.

The agreement aims to develop friendly relations and technical-economic cooperation between the two countries.

China was the first East Asian country to recognize Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and to open an embassy in Baku in 1992. Azerbaijan and China permanently support each other on international organizations.
