IDB to issue report on its projects in Azerbaijan
The Islamic Development Bank will prepare a report covering the projects and its overall operation in Azerbaijan on the basis of collected information, the IDB office in Baku told Trend news agency.
A poll was conducted among executive agencies regarding the bank's projects in the country during IDB experts' recent visit to Azerbaijan, and its results will also be analyzed in order to prepare the report.
This work is being done by the IDB not only in Azerbaijan, but also in other countries to assess the activity of the bank.
The construction of the 800-megawatt power plant Cenub, the water supply and sanitation system reconstruction project in the Azerbaijani regions and other projects are being implemented in Azerbaijan with IDB support.
From the start of its operation in Azerbaijan to January 1, 2012, the IDB signed 17 loan agreements for 15 projects totaling $726.9 million.
Azerbaijan has been a member of the Islamic bank since 1991. The country's share in the capital of the bank is 0.13 per cent.
