82 JSCs fined in Azerbaijan in half-year
The Azerbaijani State Securities Committee received 116 complaints and 13 applications related to violation of the rights of investors by 218 joint stock companies during the first half of the year.
Eighty-two joint-stock companies faced administrative penalties totaling 17,050 manats (over $21,700) in January-June after check-ups revealed major violations of the law by the companies, the State Securities Committee said Thursday.
Instructions were also issued to 92 joint stock companies to eliminate the violations.
"At the same time, board members and shareholders of the JSCs were provided with detailed information on the requirements of national legislation on securities and joint stock companies," the committee said.
