New cement plant opens
President Ilham Aliyev on Tuesday attended the opening ceremony of a new cement plant in the Garadagh district of the capital Baku, launched under a 300 million euro project.
The plant of Holcim-Azerbaycan joint-stock company, making products with the use of dry-process cement production technology, will be an initial point in the new phase in South Caucasus region`s cement industry.
Cement production by the dry-process minimizes fuel consumption, making this technology widespread in Europe.
